Josiah Alipate

Scottsdale Area Coordinator

Josiah was born and raised in Northern California, became an adult in Las Vegas, and now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. Much of his life before Jesus was spent discovering his identity. Adopted at birth, Josiah was given to a family that couldn't have children. He was raised in a home driven by results and status—a home that didn't know the Lord—and he had no idea he had biological parents.

At 16, he found out something devastating when his adoptive mother yelled in anger, "YOU'RE NOT MY SON." This news crushed Josiah, causing him to build a wall between himself and his family and to begin living a life of rebellion in Las Vegas. He became an amateur boxer and MMA fighter because fighting was the only place he thought he could belong. Fighting by day and working as a bouncer by night, the Vegas club scene provided a place to hide in plain sight. Everyone loved him for the benefits he could provide, but no one really knew Josiah—not even himself.

In 2017, Jesus wrecked Josiah's world. He was reunited with his biological family on Easter Sunday to attend a church service in Scottsdale. This is where Josiah heard the pastor ask, "How much does God love the world?"

"He loves the world so much that He would give His very own Son away."

Upon hearing this, Josiah looked to his biological father, who was sitting next to him, and realized he had been given up for adoption out of love. He also realized that God had adopted him as a son. Josiah gave his life to Jesus at that very moment and made a commitment to fully follow the Lord.

Today, he is a Youth Pastor at Highlands Church in Arizona, a student at Dallas Theological Seminary pursuing a Master's in Evangelism and Discipleship, and a Christian content creator with a digital ministry that reaches 15–20 million people globally with the gospel. He is so excited to be a part of the Collision team and to assist in national expansion efforts.
