Josh McKinley

Digital Coach

Josh has been on a grand adventure with God all his life. He grew up in Colorado, enjoying the mountains, the snow, and his family. He experienced many highs and some deep valleys growing up, spanning from going hungry as a child to traveling to the Soviet Union as a freshman in high school. He spent his first two years of college in Alaska before moving back home to Colorado, but not before taking a semester off to backpack in South America. From there, God led Josh to attend Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Nebraska, where he received a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry and met his wife, Sarah. He also attended Wayne State College and completed a teaching degree.

Josh and Sarah spent the next twenty years involved in youth ministry in both church and parachurch settings. Throw in a few years teaching high school science and raising four kids, and you can see where they spent most of their time.

More recently, Josh and his family moved to Eugene, Oregon, and are deeply involved in youth ministry and community leadership. Now that Josh is on staff with Collision as a digital coach, he has the privilege of connecting with youth pastors and volunteers from all over the country; he walks alongside them as they put Collision’s tools to work and empower young people to share the gospel. Josh loves getting a front row seat to seeing God change a generation.
