Jacob Zosel
Minneapolis Metro Executive Director
Native to small-town Morris, Minnesota, Jacob grew up in a Christian household but didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus for the first fifteen years of his life. It was after his family switched churches in his teenage years that he learned what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus and be filled with the Holy Spirit. He recalls the experience of giving his life to Christ after having made idols of sports and the approval of others, and remembers the freedom that came from being known and loved by God. He was fifteen when he truly experienced Jesus’ love, hope, and peace for the first time.
Just one year later, Jacob felt God’s call into vocational ministry, but he wasn’t sold. Instead, he pursued a degree in teaching at the University of Sioux Falls. The next two years in college were refining for Jacob, as the Holy Spirit made it clear to him that he wasn’t living to the fullest by pursuing a career in education; when he pictured himself in a teaching role, he wanted to be explaining the gospel to students, not helping them solve math equations.
With two years remaining on the traditional four-year college track, Jacob switched majors. He was still able to manage graduating within the expected time frame with a double major in youth ministry & theology and educational studies, and he has never looked back. Oh, and did we mention he also golfed on USF’s men’s team on scholarship? We’re sure he slept sometimes…
When asked why he enjoys working for Collision, Jacob explains that he’s passionate about evangelism, and he’s grateful to be part of a team that does it well.
